Ironhash Trail

Ironhash Trail Stats

Grade: Green - Easy
Distance: 11.5Km
Singletrack: 5%
Estimated Time To Ride The Route: 1.5 - 2 hrs

The Ironhash trail provides an easy ride deep into the heart of the forest, mainly on forest roads and is ideal for getting a flavour of what mountain biking can offer.

Wide, easy singletrack

Like the all the other routes at Dalbeattie, the route starts out through the skills area on wide, easy singletrack before joining the forest road to ride out through Richorn Plantation.

A short uphill stretch leads to a traverse around Cloak Hill before the trail climbs again to circle the open marshland of the 'Dry Lock'.  This marks the far point of the ride and as you enjoy the views it’s mostly downhill, retracing the route back to the trail head.

Looking to take the next step? Why not try Dalbeattie's blue-graded Moyle Hill trail?

Great day out but you need to be fit for the hills, or have some big gears, but well worth the trip

I did the trail today with my 6yr old son. Splendid, the new surfacing still needs to settle in a bit more, but for the rest an excellent trail. Might have a bit more single track in it.

Rode this trail for the 1st time this week. The bits of North Shore and single track were great. Looking forward to trying some blue trails next.

We did this route and thought it was fantastic, brilliant single track sections and highly recommend it!

Took the wife and 7 year old son today on the green route, but we didn't really have a clear idea of where it started. We kept crossing it and found it the signs a bit confusing, but great fun all the same.
Took my 8 year old daughter out here today for 1st time. She loved the single track so think blue next. Great way to spend Oct holidays.
