The Glentress Trailfairies are volunteers who help out with maintenance work on the existing bike trails and hand-build new sections of singletrack at Glentress Forest. The group was established in 2002.

Trailbuilding sessions take place on the last Saturday of the month from 9am - 4pm (Jan - Nov) except May (see below)
No pre booking is required, just turn up on the day and say hello, you'll be made very welcome. We meet up at 9am at the toolshed in the Upper Overflow carpark (old Osprey car park).

The Trailfairies is a Forestry Commission Scotland led volunteer group, with sessions normally supervised by one of the Mountainbike Rangers.

Glentress has several parking options. The trail head is at the Osprey Car Park (see the trail map for details).
Day rates are £3 for a car/motorbike and £6 for a van/minibus. Short stays (up to 1hr) to visit the café/bike shop etc. are now £1
The winter hours for The Tweed Valley Forest Park Gateway building (toilets and showers) are 9 - 5 (Mon - Fri & Sun), 9 - 5.30 (Sat) Showers cost £1 for 5 minutes
Bike hire from Alpine Bikes. Advanced booking is recommended. Phone 01721 724522 for bookings and further information. Opening hours are 9am-6pm on weekends and 9.30am-5pm on weekdays.
Bike hire is also available in Peebles and in Innerleithen
Trails: All trails open except Pie Run and then Mushroom Pie (Red Route shortcut) closed for tree cutting works on Thu 23rd & Fri 24th May (diversion via forest road to start of Magic Mushroom, post 52)
Conditions: Good.
Diversions: On Sun 26th May due to King & Queen of the Hill Enduro, the following sections only will be closed (with diversions):
On Wed 29th May from 5pm - 9pm Blue Velvet (post 27 - 28) on Blue Route will be closed for Kids Dirt Crit race. Diversion from post 27 - 28 along forest road verge (road is also part of race course). Marshals will be on hand to advise.
From Fri 31st May (5pm onwards) to end of Sat 1st June due to Glentress 7 race, the following routes/sections will be closed:

DH Trails: All open, except: On Sat 1st & Sun 2nd June all DH trails closed due to British Downhill Series race. Look out for event staff setting out the course on Thu 30th & Fri 31st May.
