The Trails

Close to the Kirroughtree Visitor Centre sites the skills area, perfect for warm ups and helping you decide which grade of trail is correct for your ability.

Kirroughtree spoils you for choice and you can make several selections from the wide range of trails available which include:

The green-graded Bargaly Wood

Offers a relaxed ride taking you around the scenic Bargalt Glen.

For something more challenging try the blue-graded Taster Loop.

The blue-graded Larg Hill

Great if you are looking for something with a bit of added excitement. With the added option of the Doon Hill extension, offering some great veiws.

The red-graded Twister

Technically testing and more demanding of the rider.

The black-graded Black Craig's

Not for the nervous and requires skill to negotiate the highlights McMoab's huge slabs and riges of exposed granite.

Trail Conditions

Current at 27th March 20152014

Trails: Blue, red and green trails open with diversions, see below. Black open.

Conditions: Take care as there may be fallen trees - please report to ranger.

Diversions: Green trail has a small diversion at the start of the trail, but won’t affect the riding experience in any way.

The blue trail has been affected by larch tree removal - much of this trail is affected and riding experience is severely reduced.

The red 7stanes trail is affected by Larch tree felling, as there’s timber across then trail in multiple sections. It contains a lot of road riding at the moment we are looking to get most of the trail up and running again for Easter

We have three harvesters on the go working 7 days a week so the trails should be back to normal sooner rather than later.
